New chiefs appointed for public sector banks

The central government has appointed new chiefs of the following public sector banks:

  • Ashok Kumar Pradhan who is currently the Executive Director of United Bank of India has been appointed as the MD and CEO of the same.
  • S Harisnakar have has appointed MD and CEO in Punjab & Sind Bank. Harisankar is currently the Executive Director of Allahabad Bank.
  • Atul Kumar Goel has been appointed MD and CEO in UCO Bank. Goel is currently the Executive Director of Union Bank of India.
  • AS Rajeev, Executive Director of Indian Bank has been named MD and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra for an initial period of three years.
  • SS Mallikarjuna Rao, currently Executive Director of Syndicate Bank has been appointed as the MD and CEO of Allahabad Bank initially for a period of three years. Rao's tenure will be extendable up to the date of his superannuation, i.e. January 31, 2022.
  • Karnam Shekhar, currently Deputy MD in SBI, has been appointed as MD and CEO of Andhra Bank. He will have tenure till the date of his superannuation on June 30, 2020.
  • J Packirisamy, currently Deputy MD in SBI, has been appointed as MD and CEO of Andhra Bank. He will have tenure till the date of his superannuation on February 28, 2021.
  • Pallav Mohapatra, currently Deputy MD in SBI, has been appointed as MD and CEO of Central Bank of India. He will have tenure till the date of his superannuation on February 28, 2021.
  • Padmaja Chundru, currently Deputy MDs in SBI, has been appointed as MD and CEO of Indian Bank. He will continue his tenure till the date of his superannuation August 31, 2021.
  • Mrutyunjay Mahapatra, currently Deputy MD in SBI, has been appointed as MD and CEO of Syndicate Bank. Mahapatra will have tenure till the date of his superannuation i.e. May 31, 2020
